Lenten Reflection – Wednesday, March 25, 2020

Most of us have been getting out of the house to walk or stretch. Here is a chance to do it intentionally, prayerfully. Those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They shall walk and not faint.

Set out with no specific agenda, asking God to show you something that will be meaningful, relevant to your problems and feelings. It will not be sensational, and even if you notice nothing, that in itself will be significant. Something God wants you to encounter, about the breeze, the cloud, a tree, a sound. Keep aware, deliberate. Receptive.

This is prayer, conscious contact with God. It is the expansion of breath, as yeast within a loaf of bread. As you reflect on your walk, offer your prayer into the healing hands of Christ; or into the light of the Holy Spirit; or into the creating/transforming force of our Holy Creator. It is all the same. It will all be received.
