Resound Ensemble’s spring concert, Still I Rise, features a diverse program of contemporary choral works, jazz, pop, and gospel music that will delight and inspire our audiences. From anthems of hope and community to a hilarious piece with eight “laughing” solos, Resound Ensemble has an exciting surprise for every listener at Still I Rise.
Emphasizing Resound Ensemble’s commitment to eclectic programming, Still I Rise includes modern classical works like Hyo-Won Woo’s Cum Sancto Spiritu, Cecilia McDowall’s Regina Caeli, and Andrea Ramsey’s Luminescence alongside contemporary pop arrangements of Carly Simon’s Let the River Run, Erika Lloyd’s Cells Planets, and Sia’s Elastic Heart. Works by Dale Trumbore, Gwyneth Walker, Ysaÿe Barnwell, Stacy Garrop, and Jocelyn Hagen round out the program, which concludes with the concert’s namesake song Still I Rise by Rosephanye Powell. Joining Resound Ensemble during the concerts will be guest artist Peggy Gyulai who will be painting live during the performances.
Tickets at the door will be $25 general admission and $35 premium seating, so buy ahead to save!
